84-Year-Old Grandpa Lives Life to the Fullest w/ First Zipline Ride
An 84-year-old grandpa from Talisay City, Cebu, shows how to live life to the fullest with his first zipline ride.
Gladysh Alterado or gladly.escape, a TikTok user, shared the memorable moment, taken during a family trip to Camotes Island to celebrate his birthday. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
The adventurous grandfather, Lorenzo “Lolo Ensot” Montero, showed no hesitation as he prepared for the activity. According to his family, this wasn’t surprising as he has always been open to trying new experiences.
“We were not that really surprised that he was chill when he went on a zipline because he was always up for a new adventure,” Alterado said.
His background as a manananggot or tuba gatherer, which required him to climb tall coconut trees, made him quite comfortable with heights.
“He also used to be a ‘manananggot’ or tuba gatherer, so we guessed he was already used to heights,” Gladysh explained.
Initially, the family was worried about the physical demands of the zipline, especially since it involved climbing stairs. However, Lolo Ensot quickly eased their concerns by eagerly leading the way and showing no signs of fear.
The senior citizen’s excitement throughout the ride left everyone inspired and proud. The trip wasn’t just about the zipline. It was a chance for the family to bond and celebrate the joyful spirit of their beloved grandfather.

“We were worried because he needed to climb the stairs, but he was so excited he went climbing first, and not even an inch of fear was seen,” he added.
The grandpa’s willingness to embrace adventure reminded everyone that age is just a number when it comes to enjoying life and creating unforgettable memories.
