Diwata Remains Undeterred by Critics of His 2025 Election Bid
DIWATA – The social media personality remains undeterred by the criticism and negativity directed towards him regarding his candidacy as the 4th nominee for the Vendors Partylist in the upcoming 2025 elections. The content creator and paresan owner has been facing backlash from netizens and even some celebrities who oppose his political ambitions.
Many comments regarding Diwata’s decision to run reflect disagreement, with some suggesting that his choice to enter politics is not well-received. Recently, he posted a video enjoying a Zumba event, which drew mixed reactions. While some praised his participation, others accused him of merely trying to improve his public image, questioning his genuine intentions.
A netizen commented, “Wag muna pag patuloy mga plano ndi ka mananalo. Kung umpisa plng maayos ka nkisama sa tao, ngaun papakitang tao ka.” Such comments showcase the skepticism surrounding Diwata’s motivations and his newfound public engagements following his submission of his Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA).
In response to the criticisms, Diwata appeared “unbothered” and affirmed his commitment to his public service plans, stating, “Tuloy ang laban,” which translates to “The fight continues.” This phrase emphasizes his determination to pursue his goals despite the backlash.
One of the first public figures to criticize Diwata’s political aspirations was motivational speaker Rendon Labador. He expressed concern over Diwata’s understanding of the political landscape, posting, “Baka akala ni Diwata mag luluto at mag titinda lang siya ng Pares, paki tanong nga kung alam niya yang pinapasok niya. Nag aalala ako para sa kanya.” Despite the negativity, Diwata is steadfast in his ambition to serve the public.
Apart from Diwata, social media personality and businesswoman Rosmar Tan is also seeking a position in politics. She is running for councilor in the first district of Manila.
