Sen. Cynthia Villar Wants Duterte-Marcos To Patch Things Up
CYNTHIA VILLAR – The Senator reacted to the recent tirades of Vice President Sara Duterte against Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
The recent tirades of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte against Pres. Bongbong Marcos shocked a lot of people. The words of the Vice President showed that the rift has seemingly taken a different level. It is no secret to the public that the ties between the Vice President and the President have turned sour.
In June, Vice Pres. Duterte resigned from being the secretary of DepEd (Department of Education). She also left the Marcos cabinet. According to her, her decision to left the Marcos cabinet includes both personal and work reasons.
In an interview, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also claimed that she and Pres. Bongbong Marcos are not really friends and they only met when they formed a tandem in the 2022 Elections. The BBM-Sara tandem had a landslide victory. The falling out of their ties sadden countless “UniTeam” supporters.
According to the Vice President, her friend really is presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos. She said that she and the President only talked about the campaign and work. On the statement of the Vice President, Pres. Bongbong Marcos admitted feeling deceived for believing that he and Duterte are friends.
However, recently, Vice Pres. Duterte has strong, heated statements against Pres. Marcos. Despite their alliance in the 2022 Elections, Vice Pres. Duterte rated Pres. Marcos’ governance 1 out of 10. According to her, it is not her fault if the Chief Executive does not know how to be a president.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also claimed she has warned Sen. Imee Marcos that she will throw the body of Marcos Sr. into the West Philippine Sea if the tirades against her don’t stop. The statement of the Vice President garnered different reactions from the people.
Recently, Senator Cynthia Villar revealed her side on the tirades of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the lawmaker believes that the Vice President was fed up by the prosecution against her and her family.
“Siyempre galit eh. Kung ano-ano naiisip kasi galit. Kasi I think masyado namang pinrosecute kaya nagagalit. Siguro ‘yun ang reason,” she said.
Sen. Cynthia Villar hopes that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and the Marcos administration will just patch things up. Based on the report, she stressed that there are so many problems in the Philippines now.
“Syempre ayaw natin na may conflict. Mahirap ‘yan eh so we’re hoping that there will be no conflict in our government kasi we have many problems. We don’t need any conflict to deter the solution of the problems,” the Senator said.
Previously, Vice Pres. Duterte said that she will “never again” team up with the Marcoses in the future elections.
