Unidentified Suspect Stabs and Robs 12-Year-Old Female Student in Tarlac

A 12-year-old female student was stabbed and robbed of her cellphone while sitting at a waiting shed in Tarlac City.

According to footage from a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera, the young girl was sitting at the waiting shed, using her cellphone, when the suspect approached her. The man suddenly stabbed her and took her cellphone before fleeing the scene. The incident took place in Barangay San Vicente on the evening of September 25, 2024.

Despite the attack, the victim survived and sustained injuries. The police, led by Lieutenant Colonel Sean Logronio, were able to identify the suspect through the CCTV footage. Authorities quickly arrested the man and recovered the screwdriver used in the assault as well as the stolen cellphone.

“Initially, lumapit nga daw ‘yung suspek sa kaniya, palakad-lakad. Then tinabihan siya. Bigla na lang siyang sinaksak. After that, dinampot ‘yung cellphone niya,” Logronio said.

The suspect admitted to committing the crime, explaining that he needed to pay off a debt. He is now facing charges of frustrated homicide in relation to Republic Act 7610, which protects children from abuse, exploitation, and discrimination, along with robbery.
