Man Hired by Brides Not Ready to Marry as a Wedding Destroyer
WEDDING DESTROYER – A Spanish man named Ernesto Varea has garnered attention for his unconventional way of earning money—by crashing weddings and causing dramatic scenes.
Known as the “wedding destroyer,” Ernesto is hired by brides who are hesitant or unsure about their decision to marry. His role involves posing as a former lover of the bride, making a scene during the ceremony, and persuading her to run away with him. This staged disruption creates the perfect opportunity for the bride to avoid marriage without having to directly refuse.
In a TikTok video shared on September 4, 2024, Ernesto explained that many brides, despite appearing happy, may feel pressured to go through with their weddings. For those with doubts, Ernesto offers a unique service to halt the wedding and give the bride an exit strategy. His clients provide him with the details of the ceremony, and he intervenes at the crucial moment when the officiant asks if anyone objects to the union.
Ernesto charges 500 euros (approximately PHP30,747.59) for each wedding disruption. Initially, this service began as a joke, but it quickly gained traction as he started receiving numerous requests from brides seeking a way out. As a result, he turned his prank into a business, helping hesitant brides avoid unwanted marriages.
In addition to his base fee, Ernesto charges extra for “unexpected incidents.” For instance, if he is slapped, punched, or kicked by the bride’s family or guests during his performance, he charges an additional 50 euros (about PHP3,074.76) per incident. Although he tries to avoid physical altercations, Ernesto admits that slowing down when running from an attack can help him earn more money.
Despite some skepticism regarding the authenticity of his service, Ernesto claims to have a growing list of clients, with his schedule fully booked until the end of 2024. He continues to share updates and stories on TikTok, where he has amassed over 301.8K followers and 9.2M likes, making him a well-known figure in the wedding-crashing business.
