Marissa Sanchez Draws a Parallel to Carlos Yulo’s Situation
MARISSA SANCHEZ – The actress reflected on her past and drew a parallel to the situation of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.
Sanchez admitted that she had experienced similar financial disagreements with her mother. She shared that she lacked discipline in managing her own money, which led her mother to control her earnings. Sanchez regretted not realizing her mistakes sooner and wished she had honored and loved her mother more.
“Ako si Carlos before… ‘Ba’t ganyan ka, Mommy?’ So, parang nagsisisi ako, tapos parang gusto kong sabihin, ‘Carlos, you will regret it’ Kasi ako I was really bad to my mom… I’m not proud of it,” said Marissa. “When my mom was alive, I was blaming her all my life ba’t ako ganito. Mali pala… Choices ko ‘yun hindi ko pwede i-blame sa mom ko. Kung pwede ko lang balikan, sana minahal ko ‘yung mom ko, [sana] I honored her still,” she added.
Sanchez’s experience has shaped her views on children who do not respect their parents. She expressed empathy for those who make mistakes with their parents and advised them to cherish and honor their parents while they are still alive, as they might regret it later. She emphasized that although one may have conflicts with their parents, it is crucial to show them respect and love. Sanchez also noted that one can express their opinions and disagreements without being disrespectful.
Reflecting on her own actions, Sanchez expressed sorrow for not treating her mother better and acknowledged that her mother’s behavior was influenced by her own upbringing. This regret has influenced her stance on parenting and respect, making her particularly sensitive to children who disobey or disrespect their parents.
In contrast, Carlos Yulo has yet to reconcile with his family after accusing them of misappropriating his cash incentives. His parents, however, have maintained that the money was used for insurance and investments to secure his future. The situation highlights the complex dynamics of family relationships and financial management, underscoring the importance of understanding and communication between family members.
