Suspected Snatcher Stopped by Ex-PBB Housemate John Adajar
JOHN ADAJAR – A former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate and mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, intervened to stop a suspected cellphone snatcher in San Pablo, Laguna on August 26, 2024. The incident, captured on video, shows Adajar pinning down the suspect until the arrival of the police.
John was inside a coffee shop in San Pablo when he heard a commotion outside. Upon discovering that a snatcher was involved, he immediately went to the scene. According to John, a man chasing the suspect told a tricycle driver to let the suspect off because he was a snatcher. The suspect then fled on foot, prompting John to follow him.
Using his self-defense skills, John tackled the suspect and restrained him on the ground until the police arrived. The video shows John’s effective intervention and the victim approaching the scene. Barangay officials also assisted in holding the suspect until law enforcement arrived. The police took the suspect into custody and charged him with theft.
John expressed that despite his fear and concern for his safety—he has a son—his desire to help the victim overcame his apprehensions. He felt confident that he could handle the situation and was motivated to assist.
John shared news of his actions on Facebook, emphasizing that his post was not meant to boast but to highlight that people are willing to risk their lives to help others. He expressed hope for humanity and urged people to remain vigilant against deceitful individuals.
Meanwhile, John Adajar gained fame as a PBB housemate in Season 10 (2021-2022) and represented the Philippines in the Mister Supranational 2021 pageant in Poland, where he reached the Top 20. He also won the welterweight world championship at the Universal Reality Combat Championship in 2018. Besides his MMA career, Adajar has been involved in acting, including a role in “Can’t Buy Me Love.”
