Carlos Yulo Willing to Join Batang Quiapo
CARLOS YULO – The two-time Olympic gold medalist has expressed his willingness to join ABS-CBN’s hit show, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.
In a recent interview, Yulo revealed he would accept an invitation from the show’s director and lead actor, Coco Martin, even if it’s for just one shooting day. He emphasized his readiness to participate and is open to whatever role Coco might assign him.
“Kung iimbitahan po ako ni Sir Coco Martin sa ‘Batang Quiapo’ kahit isang shooting day lang, papayag ako. Game na game po ako. Bahala na po si Direk Coco kung ano ‘yung magiging role ko,” he said.
Yulo’s potential involvement has sparked rumors, with some suggesting that certain scenes might be filmed in Leveriza, where his parents live. Additionally, there are speculations that Yulo’s girlfriend, Chloe San Jose, might also make an appearance on the show. Chloe recently returned to television with a performance on ASAP after a hiatus since 2020.
Yulo and Martin previously met during Yulo’s visit to the ABS-CBN headquarters, setting the stage for their potential collaboration. Carlos Edriel Poquiz Yulo is a Filipino artistic gymnast. He is celebrated for his achievements in gymnastics, including winning gold medals in the floor exercise and vault events at the 2024 Olympics. He is the first Filipino and Southeast Asian gymnast to win multiple Olympic gold medals.
Meanwhile, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo is a Philippine television crime drama series that premiered on Kapamilya Channel on February 13, 2023. The show is based on the 1986 film of the same name and stars Coco Martin, who also serves as a director and producer. The series follows the story of Hesus Nazareno “Tanggol” Dimaguiba, a young man who becomes a prominent outlaw in Quiapo, Manila, while uncovering truths about his identity and striving to earn his parents’ affection.
