Ben Tulfo to Run for Senator in the 2025 Elections

Ben Tulfo Announces His Candidacy for Senator

BEN TULFO – The host of “Bitag” has announced his independent candidacy for senator in the 2025 elections during a ceremony in Marawi City, where he received the title “Honorable Son of Marawi” from Mayor Majul Gandamra.

Bienvenido “Ben” Teshiba Tulfo is a prominent Filipino television and radio personality, entrepreneur, and production executive. He is best known as the host of BITAG, a public service program that focuses on investigative journalism and has won several awards for its contributions to public service.

Ben’s career spans various notable shows, including Philippines Most Wanted, Kilos Pronto, and Pinoy US Cops. His program BITAG, which began airing in 2002, has gained a substantial following for its unique blend of documentary-style reporting and public service. In addition to his television work, he has been involved in radio broadcasting and has written columns for publications like Philippine Star. He founded BITAG Media Unlimited Incorporated to produce his shows and has been active in the industry since the mid-1990s.

Ben is part of the Tulfo family, known for their contributions to Philippine media, including his brothers Raffy and Erwin Tulfo and sister Wanda Tulfo Teo. Their father, Ramon S. Tulfo Sr., was a colonel in the Philippine Constabulary. However, Ben has faced criticism, particularly regarding a scandal involving his sister Wanda, who resigned from her position as Secretary of Tourism after it was revealed that she directed government funds to a show produced by her brothers without proper contracts. This incident raised questions about ethics and transparency in government dealings.

Recently, Tulfo has announced his independent candidacy for senator in the 2025 elections. He decided to enter the race due to “public demand” and his strong showing in senatorial surveys. He is the brother of ACT party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo, Sen. Raffy Tulfo, and journalist Ramon Tulfo, and he was born in Camp Kithley, Marawi, where his father served as a commander of the Philippine Constabulary.

During an appearance on the “At The Forefront” program on Bilyonaryo News Channel, he expressed his desire to remain an independent candidate to avoid political conflicts and denied that his family is creating a political dynasty, asserting that they have built a “media dynasty” instead.
