Angelica Yulo Hosts Live Selling of “Branded” T-Shirts
ANGELICA YULO – The mother of two-time Paris Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo held a successful Facebook live-selling event on Tuesday afternoon, September 3, 2024. The event, which lasted nearly three hours, focused on selling skincare products and “branded” T-shirts. It garnered significant attention, with 7.2K likes and 7.7K comments, indicating its success.
Angelica was joined by her son, Karl Andrew Yulo, who is also an artistic gymnast, during the live selling. The skincare products were priced at PHP250, while the “branded” T-shirts were sold for PHP500. These T-shirts, featuring brands like Gucci, Chanel, Versace, Balenciaga, and Loewe, were suspected by some viewers to be counterfeit due to their unusually low prices.
Despite this, Angelica received praise from netizens for being a resourceful mother and was assured of their continued support for her businesses. However, the sale of potentially counterfeit “branded” T-shirts has raised concerns about trademark infringement, prompting caution, especially considering her son’s high-profile status as an Olympic medalist.
In addition to online selling, Angelica also runs a longganisa (Filipino sausage) business. These ventures demonstrate that the Yulo family does not solely rely on the rewards and gifts Carlos has received from his Olympic success.
Angelica’s official Facebook page has seen a significant increase in followers, growing from 12,000 when Carlos first won gold at the Paris Olympics in August 2024 to 56K. Her followers include many Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from places like Hong Kong and Dubai, who have pledged to continue supporting her businesses. Angelica’s live-selling event highlights her entrepreneurial spirit and the strong support she has garnered from her online community.
Meanwhile, the house of the Yulo family in Cavite, which has been a source of disagreement between Carlos Yulo and his mother, is now up for sale.
