Alice Guo Speaks on Alleged Relationship with Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Dong Calugay

ALICE GUO – The dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor addressed the rumors about her alleged relationship with Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Dong Calugay.

During a Senate hearing on Monday, dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo addressed several key issues regarding her recent actions and relationships. Arriving at the Senate in a yellow shirt and bulletproof vest, Guo was questioned about her alleged relationship with Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Dong Calugay. She denied any romantic involvement, stating, “Sen., hindi ko po siya boyfriend… Wala naman po talaga kaming relasyon po.”

Senator Risa Hontiveros inquired about Guo’s escape from the country, to which Guo confirmed she left the Philippines using a yacht. She refused to disclose the owner of the yacht or the person who facilitated her escape. However, Senator Jinggoy Estrada mentioned that the individual assisting Guo has five passports and is currently in Taiwan. Hontiveros also asked if Guo was the Chinese national Guo Hua Ping, to which Guo responded, “Madam chair, ako po si Alice Guo,” reaffirming her Filipino identity.

Alice Guo, the dismissed mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, was arrested in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 4, 2024. She was apprehended by Indonesian authorities and handed over to Philippine officials the following day. Guo returned to the Philippines in the early hours of September 6, 2024, accompanied by Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos and PNP Chief Police General Rommel Marbil on a private plane. Her arrival was confirmed by Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco.

Upon landing, Guo was taken into legal custody by the Bureau of Immigration, while the Philippine National Police (PNP) retained physical custody. She faces charges under Philippine immigration laws, including undesirability and misrepresentation. Her arrest followed the recent detention of her alleged sister and a gaming hub representative in Indonesia.
