Cliff Gingco, TV5 Program Manager, Terminated
CLIFF GINGCO – The News and Public Affairs program manager of TV5 has been officially terminated following allegations made by a male news researcher.
The incident allegedly occurred in a Pasig City hotel on July 23, 2024, just five days after the victim began working for TV5’s News and Public Affairs. The traumatic experience led the victim to seek help from Senator Raffy Tulfo through his TV5 show, “Wanted Sa Radyo,” on August 9, 2024.
Senator Tulfo, known for his strong stance against injustice, took immediate action by publicly addressing the complaint. He threatened to resign from his program and push for a Senate hearing if TV5’s management did not suspend Gingco pending an investigation. This pressure prompted TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan to personally reach out to Tulfo, assuring him that the network had already initiated a thorough investigation.
According to Tulfo’s statement, the investigation revealed “strong grounds” for the allegations against Cliff Gingco, leading to his dismissal from the network. Furthermore, a formal criminal case has been filed against Gingco with the prosecutor’s office, signaling the seriousness of the charges.
TV5, under the leadership of Chairman Pangilinan, has committed to supporting the victim, offering medical assistance and therapy to help him recover from the trauma. This move underscores the network’s dedication to addressing the issue responsibly and ensuring that the victim receives the necessary care and justice.
Senator Tulfo expressed his gratitude to Chairman Pangilinan for the swift and decisive actions taken by the network, which helped prevent any potential cover-up and ensured a fair investigation. The case continues to be closely monitored by Tulfo’s team, with further updates anticipated in the coming days. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and swift action in cases of workplace misconduct.
