Official Statement from TV5 Regarding Complaint Against Program Manager
TV5 – The management of the network has released a statement acknowledging the complaint and confirming that an investigation is underway.
On August 9, 2024, a 22-year-old talent/news researcher from TV5 appeared on Senator Raffy Tulfo’s radio show “Wanted Sa Radyo” to report misconduct by Cliff Gingco, the program manager of TV5’s News and Current Affairs department. The talent alleged that the inappropriate behavior occurred on July 23, 2024, after Gingco invited him for drinks at a bar in Makati City and later engaged in unwanted advances in a hotel room while he was too intoxicated to resist.
The talent recounted that Gingco made inappropriate advances while he was incapacitated and forced him into unwanted activities. Following the incident, the talent reported the behavior to the Action Center and the police but faced challenges, including disrespect from some officers and a lack of cooperation from the hotel manager.
He also reported the incident to TV5’s HR and Luchi Cruz-Valdes, vice president of News and Current Affairs. Despite these efforts, he felt that no significant action was taken against Gingco. The talent expressed frustration over the network’s lack of response and hopes for justice regarding the misconduct he experienced.
TV5 management has released a statement acknowledging the complaint and confirming that an investigation is underway. The network has promised to protect the rights of all parties involved and has asked the public to withhold judgment until the investigation is complete.
Here is the official statement from TV5:
“TV5 management is aware of the matter regarding an alleged incident between a TV5 employee and an independent contractor.
