Veteran Actress Teresa Loyzaga Opens Up on Rehab of Son Diego
TERESA LOYZAGA – The veteran actress admitted that she was the one who sent her son, Diego, to a rehabilitation facility.
Countless people had their own battle against being hooked to illegal substances. One of them is young actor Diego Loyzaga who previously expressed that after being under a rehabilitation facility for 8 months, his life changed for the better.
Diego is now a father. It was in June 2023 when news reports about his fatherhood broke out. The mother of his child is a non-showbiz girl, Alexis Suapengco. They named their baby girl Hailey Page.
Diego Loyzaga is the son of Teresa Loyzaga with Cesar Montano. After years of a not-so-good relationship with his father, the young actor was also able to patch things up with Cesar.
Recently, during her appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Teresa admitted that she was the one who decided to get Diego into a rehabilitation facility. She stressed that it was a very hard decision for her to make but she did it for her son.
“There was a part of me that died, but I wanted my son to live,” the veteran actress said.
According to Teresa Loyzaga, Diego got angry at her that time for putting him into a rehab facility. She explained that people who use the illegal substances are not their real selves. He was in rehab for 8 months and they were not able to see each other but she was always visiting him.
The veteran actress shared that she was not allowed to be seen by her son as it was part of the punishment for him to learn to appreciate home and family. During the interview, she also shared that there was a time when she visited him and only a wall seperates them. She would see him in the monitor but he was not aware of it.
Teresa said that there was even a time when they were only one (1) tarpaulin apart and she peeped on a hole to see her son. She would often send him foods inside the rehab facility.
According to the veteran actress, after 8 months, Diego came back to who he really is as a son to her. He understood why his mother had to make such decision which was for his sake.
