Cian, Son of Donna Cruz, Graduates With High Honors in Medical Biology
CIAN CRUZ LARRAZABAL – The eldest child of Donna Cruz and Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Biology from Cebu Doctors’ University in Mandaue City. His achievement has garnered significant attention on social media. On July 29, 2024, his father, Dr. Yong, expressed immense pride in a heartfelt message, celebrating Cian’s academic excellence.
In his letter, Dr. Yong shared his pride and joy, stating, “My boy is graduating magna cum laude today! I couldn’t be any prouder. Cian is finishing his Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Biology today. Congratulations, son!” He emphasized how proud both he and Donna are of Cian’s accomplishments and the way he has taken advantage of the opportunities given to him. Dr. Yong encouraged Cian to continue his journey with purpose and kindness, hoping that his degree will serve as a call to help the community and benefit others.
The Larrazabal family, who are board members of Cebu Doctors’ University and owners of Cebu Doctors University Hospital, are currently enjoying a European tour, exploring Switzerland and Germany. In Switzerland, they visited the famous Iseltwald dock in Iseltwald Village, a popular tourist spot featured in the K-drama series Crash Landing On You. Their Swiss adventure also included stops in Zurich and Zermatt.
Reflecting on their children’s journey, Dr. Yong and Donna have always placed high importance on education and personal growth. Back in 2021, Dr. Yong expressed similar pride when both their only daughter, Belle Cruz Larrazabal, and Cian graduated in the same academic year—Belle from college and Cian from senior high school. He shared a heartfelt Facebook post celebrating their achievements and encouraged them to pursue their dreams, whether or not they choose to become doctors like him.
