How’s the Ties Between VP Sara Duterte and Pres. Bongbong Marcos Now?
SARA DUTERTE – Amid the issues, the Vice President revealed that she has no label on her relationship with Pres. Bongbong Marcos and they didn’t see each other.
For quite a few months now, there are countless questions from the public on the real ties between Pres. Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte. The two (2) politicians were running-mates in the 2022 Elections and their families are both among the most politically-powerful clans in the country.
Duterte and Marcos have always spoke well of each other but the recent issues leave questions on the part of the Filipinos. Many people were surprised when Vice Pres. Sara Duterte resigned as the DepEd Secretary.
According to Vice Pres. Duterte, her decision to leave the helm of the Department of Education is because of her compassion for the students and the teachers. She also left her post as the vice chairperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
Vice Pres. Duterte previously explained that the reasons why she left the cabinet of Pres. Marcos includes both personal and work reasons. According to her, it needs a sit-down to tackle the many reasons behind her decision.
Recently, in an interview, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked about her relationship with Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The two (2) politicians haven’t been seen together for a while. Duterte also skipped Marcos’ SONA or State of the Nation Address for this year.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Duterte said she has no label for her relationship with Marcos now. According to her, they no longer see each other and they have not talked.
“Wala akong label sa relationship namin ngayon. Hindi na kami nagkikita at hindi na kami nagkausap,” the Vice President expressed.
Duterte has been involved in several issues lately. She was bashed by countless people online after photos and videos of her and her family leaving for abroad amid the onslaught of Typhoon Carina in the Philippines crossed the surface.
The Office of the Vice President clarified that it was a personal trip that obtained the necessary documents like the permit from the Office of the President. The removal of 75 PNP cops assigned for the security of Duterte by the Philippine National Police also sparked several reports and reactions.
There were several known personalities who also revealed that Duterte still has more than 350 personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the PNP assigned for her safety. It elicited negative reactions from many Filipinos.
