Fatigued Police Officers Seen Lying on Ground During Quiboloy Search
PASTOR APOLLO QUIBOLOY – Some police officers were seen lying on the ground, struggling with fatigue during their search operation for the fugitive preacher.
On the morning of August 24, a significant police operation took place at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City. Hundreds of officers, including around 2,000 personnel, as stated by Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, were involved in searching the 30-hectare property. The search was conducted following the issuance of an arrest warrant for Quiboloy and several associates.
The KOJC compound, which includes the still-unfinished King Dome stadium and other large structures, was opened to the police without resistance. This was in contrast to a previous encounter where Quiboloy’s followers had used water cannons against the officers. Despite a tense confrontation with KOJC’s lawyer, Israelito Torreon, who argued about the legality of the search, the police proceeded after being given 30 minutes to resolve the matter.
The police were equipped with motion detectors to aid in locating Quiboloy, who faces serious charges. The operation was carried out under instructions to arrest anyone obstructing or attacking law enforcement, and efforts were made to minimize conflict by negotiating entry through the front gate while a simultaneous entry was made through other parts of the compound.
Due to exhaustion from lack of sleep and the intensity of the operation, some police officers were seen lying on the ground, struggling with fatigue as per SMNI News. This was compounded by the size of the KOJC property, which includes complex infrastructure such as underground spaces and tunnels, making the search challenging. Brigadier General Torre anticipated that finding Quiboloy could take a significant amount of time, potentially requiring up to a month of searching.
Meanwhile, a former Presidential Spokesperson condemned the search operation at the compound of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
