Pokwang Gives Love Another Try on ‘EXpecially For You’
Pokwang – The comedienne returned to It’s Showtime as a searcher for the show’s “EXpecially for You” segment, accompanied by her daughter, Mae. Mae had previously encouraged her mom to join the matchmaking segment, expressing her desire for her mother to have a companion as she grows older.
Pokwang shared that she had been single for 17 years before meeting her former partner, Lee O’Brian, on a project set. They ended their relationship in 2021. Reflecting on the breakup, the comedienne became emotional, revealing that she felt regret and guilt for Mae.
She noted that Mae witnessed how much she loved O’Brian and how happy she was, which led Mae to sacrifice her own happiness. Pokwang expressed that Mae’s sacrifice seemed wasted and that her daughter was also affected by the pain from the breakup.
Despite the difficulties, Pokwang acknowledged that the only positive aspect of her past relationship was their daughter, Malia. In the matchmaking segment, Pokwang chose Richard, a chef from Ilocos Sur, after he answered three questions. Richard had also lived in Spain for eight years.
Following her split from O’Brian, Pokwang successfully filed a deportation case against him. Nevertheless, she continues to allow Malia to see and bond with her father.
