Mon Confiado Pursues Legal Action Against a Content Creator
MON CONFIADO – The actor has formally filed a complaint against content creator Jeff Jacinto, also known as ILEIAD, for using his name and image in a copypasta or meme without his consent.
In a Facebook post, Confiado expressed his displeasure, stressing that using someone’s name and image without permission is a criminal act. He argued that not all jokes are funny or appropriate for everyone, and jokes should bring happiness rather than cause harm.
Confiado also mentioned that he is a private person who has managed to avoid controversy throughout his career in show business. He pointed out that Jacinto’s post, even if intended as a joke, could be easily misinterpreted by the public, especially since it was shared on Facebook, a platform where people are quick to believe and repost content without verifying its accuracy.
Confiado explained that this could potentially harm his professional career, which includes ongoing film projects, endorsements, and negotiations to become a brand ambassador for a product. He questioned whether he should remain silent and simply ignore the situation or if he had the right to respond to protect his reputation and career.
Moreover, Confiado criticized Jacinto for his unapologetic response to the situation. According to Confiado, when he initially confronted Jacinto about the post, Jacinto responded dismissively, asking, “Is this a threat?” and did not remove the post until the following evening. Although Jacinto later issued a public apology, Confiado described it as sarcastic and insincere, noting that Jacinto showed no genuine remorse. Instead, Jacinto and his followers continued to mock Confiado, turning the actor into the villain of the situation.
Confiado’s decision to pursue legal action highlights his stance against the misuse of personal identity on social media and his commitment to protecting his reputation from potentially damaging online behavior.
