Earlier Mon Confiado took to Facebook to address a false story posted by content creator Ileiad, who has over 21,000 followers. The post claimed Mon had a rude encounter at a grocery store, mistreating Ileiad, failing to pay for 15 Milky Way bars, and yelling at the cashier.
Mon expressed frustration over misleading stories using his name and image. He shared a screenshot of his conversation with Ileiad, who apologized and said he didn’t mean to damage Mon’s reputation and recognized that not everyone would understand the joke.
Mon was dissatisfied with the apology, confronting Ileiad and threatening legal action. He clarified that the story was false and criticized Ileiad for using him for social media attention at his expense.
Ileiad has since removed the post and issued an “official apology” to Mon, expressing regret and committing to create only content about himself in the future. He humorously vowed to eat only Filipino-branded cornballs as penance.
