Waiter R-Jay Marcilla Has Filed Charges Against Sir Jude Bacalso
JUDE BACALSO ISSUE – A waiter named R-Jay Marcilla has filed formal charges against the LGBTQIA+ writer following an incident at a restaurant last month.
Jude Bacalso, a controversial travel writer and member of the LGBT community, made headlines after allegedly punishing a waiter identified as R-Jay Marcilla. Bacalso purportedly forced the waiter to stand for two hours after being addressed as “sir.” Bacalso has since issued an apology, but some netizens did not accept his explanation, claiming that he did not demand that the waiter stand the entire time; rather, the waiter volunteered to do so.
Apparently, the issue has turned into a blessing in disguise for the waiter, who continues to receive job offers both locally and abroad. In fact, a businessman is offering him a supervisor position at a salon or in travel and tours. A job opportunity abroad also awaits the waiter. However, the waiter has yet to respond to these offers as well as the ongoing issue.
Several celebrities, including Ogie Diaz, MJ Lastimosa, RR Enriquez, Kaladkaren, and social media personality Tito Mars, have reacted to the issue. Most of them condemn Bacalso for his treatment of the waiter.
Meanwhile, Marcilla has filed formal charges against Sir Jude Bacalso. Marcilla’s legal team from Cabrido and Law Firm reported that he remains deeply affected by the incident. Atty. Ron Ivan Gingoyon noted that Marcilla has been struggling with leaving his home and returning to work due to the trauma, and that the incident has had a significant impact on his mental health.
The charges against Bacalso include Unjust Vexation, Grave Scandal, Grave Coercion, Grave Threats, and Slight Illegal Detention. These charges are based on Marcilla’s claim that Bacalso demanded the lengthy lecture in response to the misgendering. As of now, Bacalso has not responded publicly to the charges.
