Amid the Investigation, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz Were Suspended
JOJO NONES AND RICHARD “DODE” CRUZ – The independent contractors for the Kapuso network have been suspended while an investigation is underway concerning allegations involving Sandro Muhlach. Atty. Maggie Garduque, representing Nones and Cruz, stated that no formal written complaint had been filed against her clients yet. She argued that formal complaints are necessary for proper investigations, as they provide specific allegations and allow the accused to respond.
Nones has been removed from his role as the 2nd unit director for the new drama series “Prinsesa ng City Jail,” and his participation in the “Magpakailanman” taping has been canceled. On August 1, Sandro Muhlach and Niño were reportedly seen at GMA-7, potentially submitting their formal complaint against the independent contractors there.
Sandro Muhlach is reportedly managing better now, feeling supported and having completed one counseling session arranged by Sparkle, with more sessions scheduled. Following GMA Network’s official statement, which named Muhlach, Nones, and Cruz in the issue, Kapuso writer Suzette Doctolero expressed support for all involved, emphasizing compassion and fairness.
The controversy began with blind items on July 30, suggesting a newcomer actor was nearly a victim of two influential individuals from a station during a grand hotel event. The blind items led to speculation about the identities of those involved. Later that evening, GMA-7 acknowledged the incident, promising action once a formal complaint was filed. The situation intensified when Niño and Diane Tupaz posted emotional messages on social media, hinting at the seriousness of the incident and their intent to seek justice for their son.
On August 1, GMA released an official statement confirming the receipt of a formal complaint and reaffirming their commitment to a fair investigation. Sandro also shared this statement on his Instagram Story, bringing further attention to the issue.
