Contestant on Eat Bulaga Suddenly Loses Composure During the Show
CREEPY? – A contestant on the ‘Peraphy’ segment of Eat Bulaga went viral after displaying unusual behavior during the game.
Angelito Calida, the contestant, was excited to participate in the game but unexpectedly left hosts Vic Sotto, Miles Ocampo, and Ryzza Mae Dizon and walked to the other side of the stage. The hosts were visibly puzzled and frequently looked toward the production team, sensing something was wrong.
Calida then approached Singing Queen Anne and hugged her unexpectedly. The hosts quickly called for marshalls and medics, with Tito Sotto audibly saying, “May tama ito,” while summoning more staff to assist. Calida was guided back to his original position, where Vic asked about his condition. Miles tried to calm the situation by suggesting that the contestant was just nervous.
Netizens commended the professionalism of the Eat Bulaga hosts, who handled the incident without embarrassing Calida, showcasing their ability to manage unexpected situations gracefully on live television.
Meanwhile, Peraphy (stylized as PERAPhY) is a game segment on Eat Bulaga that started airing on October 20, 2023. The segment involves oversized cards and tests the mental telepathy skills of a studio audience member or a special celebrity guest. It is reminiscent of Hi-Lo Todo Panalo, the Philippine version of Card Sharks.
In the standard format, a studio host selects a contestant, who then picks from an oversized deck of cards named after fruits or sour fruits. The contestant must guess whether the next card’s value is higher or lower for eight rounds, winning cash prizes for correct guesses. If incorrect, they continue playing without losing anything.
The Peraphy Express variant, introduced on June 7, 2024, features a faster-paced game with only four rounds. Additionally, there is a homepartner game where viewers guess card values via QR codes for a chance to win prizes.
