Yulo Family Can’t Contact Carlos Yulo, Says Chavit Singson
CHAVIT SINGSON – The former Ilocos Sur Governor revealed that the Yulo family cannot contact two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.
Chavit has reached out to Yulo, urging him to reconcile with his family. Singson expressed his concern during an interview at the grand opening of a BBQ Chicken restaurant in Festival Mall, Alabang. He revealed that before giving the P5 million incentive he promised to Carlos, he hopes the athlete will make amends with his mother, Angelica Yulo, and his girlfriend, Chloe San Jose.
Singson shared that he has attempted to contact Carlos but has not yet received a response. He noted that he has only been able to speak with Carlos’s parents and siblings, who also have not been able to reach him. Singson emphasized the importance of family, urging Carlos to act as a role model by reconciling with his loved ones.
“Wala. Walang maka-contact sa kanya, eh. Pero kinu-contact ko na siya lang kaya nakikiusap ako kay Caloy na ipakita niya na ngayon champion siya,” he said. “Naka-gold siya, ipakita niya na siya ang ano, role model, of the family. Eh, ‘di maganda ‘yung pinapakita niya kung hindi siya makipag-reconcile sa pamilya,” he added.
The former governor stressed that Carlos’s recent success as an Olympic champion should not change his priorities, particularly when it comes to family. He reminded Carlos of the significance of respecting one’s parents, referencing the Ten Commandments. Singson added that the P5 million reward would be given if Carlos successfully brings his family together, underscoring the importance of family unity.

Singson also revealed that he felt sympathy for Carlos’s father, who was visibly emotional during the Heroes’ Parade for Filipino athletes who competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Singson appealed to Carlos, reminding him that his achievements are not solely for himself but for his family and country as well. He urged Carlos to forgive any past grievances and to reconnect with his family.
