Dismissed Mayor Alice Guo’s Lawyer Asserts Client Still in PH
ALICE GUO’S LAWYER – Attorney Stephen David revealed that he called the dismissed Mayor when reports about her alleged departure broke out.
Countless Filipinos were left dismayed after reports that dismissed Mayor Alice Guo has allegedly left the Philippines crossed the surface. During a Senate session, Senator Risa Hontiveros revealed having a document showing that the dismissed Mayor has arrived in Kuala Lumpur last July 18.
After saying that dismissed Mayor Alice Guo has left the Philippines based on the document, Hontiveros expressed that her departure was last July 17 and she arrived in Malaysia the following day. The Senator also expressed that the dismissed Mayor met with her family in Singapore afterwards.
Dismissed Mayor Guo is facing a lot of complaints filed by the different state entities in the Philippines. The Ombudsman recently ruled for the dismissal of Guo as mayor. It also ruled the forfeiture of all her retirement benefits and her ineligibility to seek public office in the country again.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros raised a question on who could have helped the dismissed Mayor leave the Philippines amid the many accusations against her. Her name is on the immigration lookout bulletin. According to the Bureau of Immigration, they have no records of Guo passing the immigration but their intelligence information from their counterparts abroad said that she flew to Malaysia.
Recently, dismissed Mayor Alice Guo’s lawyer, Attorney Stephen David, asserted that his client is still in the Philippines. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the laywer revealed that he called the dismissed Mayor when the reports about her alleged departure broke out.
According to dismissed Mayor Alice Guo’s lawyer, he called her and told her that she is being located. Based on the report, David said that he asked his client if she left the Philippines to which Guo allegedly answered in the negative.
“Kanina noong pumutok ‘yang balita, tinawagan ko siya (Guo). Sabi ko ‘Hinahanap ka na naman dito. Asan ka ba? Nakalabas ka na ba ng Pilipinas?’ Sabi niya hindi,” dismissed Mayor Alice Guo’s lawyer said.
