Guo attended a few Senate hearings over the accusations of her alleged POGO involvement. However, she skipped the inquiry set by the chamber last June 26 and July 10.

Following her absence in the July 10 Senate hearing, the upper chamber cited Guo for contempt. An arrest order was released by the Senate against Guo and the authorities visited her registered addresses in the pursuit to serve the order.

Several complaints were filed against the dismissed Mayor. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) approved a material misrepresentation case against Guo. The office of the Solicitor General (OSG) also filed a quo warranto petition against the dismissed Mayor.

Recently, Alice Guo was dismissed from her post as the mayor of Bamban, Tarlac following the ruling of the Ombudsman. The higher authority also moved for the forfeiture of all of her retirement benefits.

However, amid the authorities’ pursuit to have dismissed Mayor Alice Guo face the complaints against her, Senator Risa Hontiveros got a document proving that she has left the Philippines.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the document presented by Sen. Risa Hontiveros stated that dismissed Mayor Alice Guo has left the Philippines last July 17 and arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the following day.

Guo allegedly met with her family in Singapore after it. Based on the report, Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Ty said that their knowledge is that the dismissed Mayor is still in the Philippines. According to him, there were no reports to them of an attempted departure from the Bureau of Immigration.

“Who allowed this travesty to happen? Hindi makakaalis si Alice Guo kung walang tumulong sa kanya na mga opisyales ng pamahalaan. Para tayong ginisa sa sarili nating mantika,” Hontiveros said.

Sen. Hontiveros questions who could have helped Guo if she has left the Philippines. Senator Raffy Tulfo expressed that the dismissed Mayor could have used a private plane.

“Sakay ng isang chartered plane, hindi ka na dadaan sa proseso, hindi ka na dadaan sa immigration,” Tulfo said.
