BI Speaks on Alice Guo amid Reported Departure
ALICE GUO – The Bureau of Immigration revealed that the dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor is now in Indonesia.
More than a month ago, the Senate released an arrest order against then-suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo. She was cited for contempt after her absence in two (2) Senate hearings over her alleged involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in her town.
Guo is facing several accusations. Aside from her alleged involvement in the illegal POGO operations in her town, the then-suspended Mayor is also accused of being a Chinese national. The findings of the fingerprints match between hers and Chinese national Guo Hua Ping say that they are the same person.
Recently, the Office of the Ombudsman ordered then-suspended Mayor Alice Guo’s dismissal. The Ombudsman also ordered that the retirement benefits of Guo will be forfeited and she will not be allowed to run for any public office in the country again.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue, more popularly called BIR, also filed a Php 500,000 tax evasion case against Guo. However, amid the piling up of complaints against the dismissed Mayor, the authorities were not able to locate her.
The authorities visited all the registered addresses of Guo but failed to locate her. They also found negative presence in her farm and garments factories.
Recently, countless people were left disappointed after Senator Risa Hontiveros unveiled a document during a Senate session which claims that dismissed Mayor Alice Guo has left the Philippines. The lawmaker explained that Guo left the country last July 17 and arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in July 18.
Furthermore, Hontiveros expressed that Guo went to Singapore to meet her parents and her brother, Wesley Guo. The lawyer of dismissed Mayor Guo said she’s still in the Philippines as they have talked over the phone.
As for the Bureau of Immigration, while it expressed that they have no records of Guo’s departure, the intelligence information from their counterparts abroad said that Guo has flew abroad. Recently, the BI spoke anew on the issue.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the immigration bureau expressed that dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is now in Indonesia. According to BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval, the dismissed Mayor arrived in Indonesia from Singapore on August 18.
Sandoval told Super Radyo dzBB that the bureau is now checking on the movements of the dismissed Mayor to determine the people who have helped her leave the Philippines.
