Tito Mars Reacts to Issue of Jude Bacalso
TITO MARS – The content creator expressed his opinion on the controversy involving LGBTQ member Jude Bacalso.
Bacalso, a travel writer who is a member of the LGBTQ community, is making a buzz online after allegedly forcing a waiter to stand for two hours after being called “sir.” Following receiving massive backlash, Bacalso issued an apology, saying he did not demand the waiter to stand for the entire time.
Among those who reacted to the issue is content creator Tito Mars. According to him, “Mukha namang lalaki ito kaya dapat ay hindi magalit na tawaging ‘sir’.” He added that if they were to meet, he wouldn’t mistake Jude Bacalso for a woman.
Tito Mars emphasized that one of the issues with some members of the LGBTQ community is being ‘feelingera’ (acting entitled).
Tito Mars is a social media personality known for his videos sharing his views and opinions, and more recently, for taking on eating challenges suggested by netizens. These challenges often involve foods common in ordinary Filipino families’ diets, such as sardines, dried fish, and mango with shrimp paste. His reactions to eating these foods have sparked much criticism, with viewers accusing him of disrespecting the food of the less fortunate.
In response to the backlash, Tito Mars explained that he did not intend to disrespect anyone and that he considers himself part of the underprivileged community. Despite his explanations, the controversy has continued, with some people believing that he had no ill intentions, while others feel that he should be more sensitive when creating content related to the culture and lifestyle of others.
Meanwhile, as of press time, the waiter has yet to break his silence. Amid the issue, he continues to receive blessings, especially job offers locally and even abroad.
