Lawyers Believe Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Should Respect PNP Decision
SARA DUTERTE – Manila 3rd District Representative Joel Chua accused the Vice President of just diverting the public attention from her trip abroad.
Previously, Vice Pres. Duterte confirmed the recall of 75 cops assigned for her security. Then, the Vice President whose real ties with Pres. Bongbong Marcos is being questioned said that the relief of many of her security detail will not affect her work.
Prior to the confirmation of the relief of her PNP security detail, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) confirmed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte flew abroad amid the wrath of Typhoon Carina in the Philippines. She went on a personal trip with her family and the OVP said that it has the permit from the Office of the President.
The statement of the OVP cleared the speculations that the Vice President flew abroad but it did not mention as to which country she and her family went. Her office also admitted the “unfortunate” timing of her trip. It gained different reactions from the people.
Many individuals bashed the Vice President for leaving the country amid the onslaught of a typhoon. Other people understood that the natural calamity cannot be predicted and she has the right to be with her family.
However, shortly after saying that the recall of the 75 cops assigned for her security won’t affect her work, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte issued an open letter for PNP chief Rommel Marbil. She claimed that the PNP Chief was telling lies when he said that they requested the OVP over the recall of her security detail and that there was no threat against the Vice President.
Duterte said that the OVP was only informed and not asked. She also recalled the malicious circulation of her video at the airport when she and her family was about to leave the country.
Recently, at least two (2) lawmakers expressed their belief that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte should respect the decision of the PNP. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, House Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr. recalled that there were also instances when the security detail of the congressmen were removed to be diverted for other assignments.
Manila 3rd District Representative Joel Chua accused Vice pres. Sara Duterte of allegedly diverting the public attention from her trip abroad to the removal of her PNP security detail. Based on the report, he also stressed that there are still cops assigned for the security of the Vice President as not all her security detail was removed.
“Baka mamaya dina-divert lamang niya ‘yung issue. Dahil naalala po ninyo, siya po ay sumagot dito noong pumutok po ‘yung issue na siya po ay pumunta sa Germany sa kasagsagan po ng bagyo,” Chua expressed.
The Manila 3rd District Representative stressed that the PNP is just doing their job. He believes that the Vice President will respect it.
