Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Thanks Allies in the Senate, Supporters
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President appealed to her allies and supporters for the security of her family members following the relief of 75 cops assigned for her safety.
One of the current issues involving Vice Pres. Duterte is the removal of the 75 cops assigned for her security. The Philippine National Police (PNP) previously explained that the relief of some of the security detail of the Vice President is due to the insufficiency of the cops in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Previously, the Vice President said that the removal of the 75 cops assigned for her security will not affect her work. However, a few days after, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte released an open letter for PNP chief Rommel Francisco Marbil.
The Vice President denied that the PNP made a request to the Office of the Vice President (OVP) over the relief of the 75 cops assigned for her security. She also stressed that most of those who were relieved were her trusted cops and those who have worked for her security or her fathe’s for several years now.
Duterte also emphasized that there is also an insufficient population of cops in Mindanao. According to her, many of those who were re-assigned in NCR are from Mindanao.
Senator Bato dela Rosa called to the PNP and the AFP personnel who can provide additional security for the Vice President. Recently, the Vice President released a statement expressing her gratitude to her allies in the Senate and her supporters who are concerned about her safety.
The Vice President made a special mention of senators Bato dela Rosa, Robin Padilla, and Bong Go and her supporters. She told them not to worry about her safety as offering your life for the country is part of the job of a public servant. However, she made a request with regards to her family.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte appealed for the security for her family members — her mother, her husband, and their four children. She called on her supporters to not allow any harm towards her family whether it is personally or online and to not anyone get away with it in case it happens. Here’s her statement:
