Official Statement of Resto on LGBT Customer Who Forced a Waiter to Stand for 2 Hours

ULLI’S STREETS OF ASIA – The restaurant where an LGBT customer allegedly forced a waiter to stand for two hours for being called “sir” has released an official statement addressing the incident.

The resto expressed deep concern, stating they have spoken with the waiter involved and the team to provide support and brief them on the situation. The restaurant assured that they are focusing on educating their staff and prioritizing their welfare.

They apologized to their guests, acknowledged their concerns, and committed to improving the customer experience. Ulli’s Streets of Asia emphasized their respect for all individuals, including the LGBTQIA+ community, and reiterated that discrimination has no place in their restaurant.

In a follow-up statement, the restaurant reaffirmed their support for the employee involved in the incident. The management expressed their commitment to both their staff and guests, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful environment. They also outlined their plans to improve how such situations are handled in the future.

Earlier, a certain John Calderon shared on social media an incident where he saw LGBT customer Jude Bacalso allegedly force a waiter to stand for two hours after being called “sir.” Calderon reported that when he asked Bacalso if he was the owner or a customer, Bacalso sarcastically responded to ask the waiter. The waiter explained he had misgendered Bacalso. Calderon criticized Bacalso for his actions and expressed disappointment, stating that Bacalso’s behavior was harmful to the LGBTQ community.

In response, Bacalso issued a statement clarifying that his intent was to educate on misgendering rather than to punish the waiter. He explained that he addressed the issue directly with the restaurant owners, whom he knows personally, and emphasized that one of the owners is a transwoman whose transition has made the issue more personal.
