MARIAN RIVERA AND DINGDONG DANTES – The showbiz couple made headlines for their generous contribution to the victims of Super Typhoon Carina and the Habagat.

They donated over 700 relief packs to the GMA Kapuso Foundation, which spearheaded the relief operations. This effort was crucial in assisting communities that were severely impacted by the recent natural disasters.

Marian, along with her children Zia and Sixto, and the DongYan team, were actively involved in repacking the relief goods. Marian emphasized the importance of their contribution, stating, “We are collecting such a large number of bags to distribute to our fellow countrymen.” This hands-on involvement highlights their commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected.

Dingdong Dantes, alongside fellow Navy reservists Rocco Nacino and Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez, also played a significant role in the relief efforts. They, too, were part of the distribution team, delivering essential supplies to Marikina. Dingdong expressed the value of their involvement, noting, “One of the few things that we do as reservists. Kaya kung saan may pangangailangan, andu’n kami, especially sa GMA Kapuso Foundation.”

Rocco Nacino added that their efforts brought smiles to the faces of those they helped, which he considered a significant achievement. Beatrice Luigi Gomez, who experienced a similar situation during Super Typhoon Odette in 2021, shared her personal connection to the relief work, saying, “As a Cebuana, personal ko naranasan ito in 2021, during [Super Typhoon] Odette. So I know what it feels like.”

Meanwhile, Typhoon Carina, internationally known as Gaemi, caused significant destruction in the Philippines. The typhoon resulted in 22 fatalities due to flooding and landslides worsened by heavy monsoon rains. As of the latest update, emergency efforts are underway to address the situation.
