Waiter in Viral Issue with Jude Bacalso Receives Support from His Former Teacher
Ayisha – The former teacher of Rjay, the waiter who went viral for standing for two hours in front of a disgruntled LGBTQIA+ customer, has publicly supported him.
In a Facebook post, Ayisha, who taught Rjay during his high school years in Palompon, Leyte, expressed her dismay at the way he was treated by Jude Bacalso, the customer involved. She highlighted Rjay’s kindness and respectful nature, which she had witnessed firsthand.
Ayisha lamented the negative online attention surrounding the incident, emphasizing that as a teacher in a Catholic school, she instilled values of respect and kindness in her students. She noted that the Sisters of the Daughters of Charity, including Sister Remy, were well-acquainted with Rjay’s character, often seeing him participate in morning prayers.
Despite the controversy, Ayisha expressed pride in how Rjay handled the situation with composure. Following the incident, Rjay has deactivated all his social media accounts, and some colleagues have reported difficulty in reaching him.
Meanwhile, Jude Bacalso, a travel writer and member of the LGBT community, has been making rounds online after allegedly forcing a waiter to stand for two hours when he was called “sir.” Bacalso has already issued an apology, but some netizens did not accept his explanation, as he claimed that he did not demand that the waiter stand for the entire duration; instead, the waiter volunteered to do so.
Apparently, the issue has turned into a blessing in disguise for the waiter, who continues to receive job offers locally and abroad. In fact, a businessman is offering him a supervisor position at a salon or in travel and tours. A job opportunity abroad also awaits the waiter. However, the waiter has yet to respond to the offers as well as the ongoing issue.
