Criminology Graduate Dedicates Diploma to His Late Parents

ANGELO CUEVO – A 21-year-old criminology graduate from Plaridel, Bulacan, dedicated his hard-earned diploma to his deceased parents.

In a viral Facebook post by BulSU Capture, Cuevo expressed that becoming a Bachelor of Science in Criminology was the best gift he could give to his late parents. He shared that his mother had passed away during his exam period, and despite her death, he felt compelled to attend his exams, knowing it was her dream for him to graduate.

Sadly, his mother’s wish to witness his graduation could not be fulfilled as she passed away before that momentous occasion. Cuevo also shared in an exclusive interview with Balita that his father had also passed away due to a heart attack a few months before his mother’s passing.

“May time po na nakaburol ‘yong mama ko pero kailangan ko pong pumasok dahil exam namin. Pangarap ni mama na makapagtapos ako at gustong-gusto niyang makasama s’ya sa graduation ko kaso hindi na umabot. Itong diploma po ang best gift ko para sa kanila,” he said.

Since then, Cuevo has been living alone in their home in Plaridel, as his sister had to move to another house in a nearby barangay. He expressed gratitude to his aunt and grandmother, who have been supporting him, ensuring he has food every day.

Despite the challenges of losing both parents, Cuevo persevered with the support of his family and used his father’s savings to continue his education and fulfill his promise to graduate. He acknowledged that his parents served as his inspiration to finish his studies, even though he may not have been the top student in his class.

Angelo Cuevo finally graduated from Bulacan State University in Malolos, Bulacan on July 15, 2024, fulfilling his parents’ dreams and making them proud.
