Gabriela’s Arlene Brosas to Run for Senator in 2025 Elections

ARLENE BROSAS – The House Assistant Minority Leader, representing Gabriela party-list, announced her bid for the 2025 Senate elections, presenting herself as an alternative candidate.

Arlene is a prominent politician, educator, and child rights activist currently serving as a member of the Philippine House of Representatives for Gabriela Women’s Party-list. Born on October 30, 1976, she has been actively involved in legislative efforts to promote workers’ rights, gender equality, and child protection.

Brosas has filed bills such as the anti-endo bill aimed at ending labor contractualization and the SOGIE Equality Bill to prevent discrimination based on gender orientation and gender identity. She has also been a vocal advocate for climate justice and human rights protection.

Brosas, who hails from a humble background, pursued Philippine Studies at the University of the Philippines Diliman and later taught at various UP campuses. She has been recognized for her leadership within the Gabriela Women’s Party-list, where she has served as spokesperson. In Congress, she continues to champion legislative reforms that address social injustices and empower marginalized sectors of society.
