Actor-Director Xian Lim Speaks on Breakup with Kim Chiu
Xian Lim revealed during his guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that it was Kim Chiu who initiated their breakup.
Undeniably, several celebrity couples broke up in 2023. Among those are Xian Lim and Kim Chiu who were together for 12 years. They were on-screen partners on several hit projects. Collectively, the two (2) celebrities are called “KimXi”.
The breakup of Xian Lim and Kim Chiu were surrounded by issues and allegations. Undeniably, the actor earned a lot of criticisms from the netizens. He was accused of having a third party and using the actress for his career.
Xian debunked the 3rd party allegations. He stressed in his previous interviews that they had a genuine relationship which they tried to work on. The actor also stressed that he does not want to be remembered for the breakup.
Visibly, the actor-director is now focusing in his career. Xian is also in a new relationship with Iris Lee, a film producer, and he confirmed the real score between them shortly after rumors were out.
Recently, Xian Lim appeared as a guest on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. One of the topics during the interview was his controversial breakup with Kim Chiu. The actor revealed that he did not initiate the breakup. He also stressed that they are friends.
According to the actor, on the night that they broke up, he and Kim were emotional but had a good talk. He also revealed that there was an assurance that they will respect their 12-year relationship. They talked privately and there was no digging up on who failed the other.
“Ang dami kasing kuwento, especially ‘yun nga ang mahirap sa isang public relationship… I understand why the supporters are angry… Pero masakit rin ‘yun para sa amin,” Xian said.
Xian Lim stressed that the length of his relationship with Kim Chiu speaks for it. He believes that the people who are criticizing him must look at their relationship. He stressed that he had a clean record throughout their relationship and he was never seen in places where he shouldn’t be.
During the interview, the actor admitted that he is sad over the many intrigues that are coming out most especially against him. He also downplayed the speculations that he is speaking up on the issues for the promotion of his movie. Kim Chiu previously spoke and asked Xian Lim to stop giving statements and leave respect for each other.
