Sheena Palad issues an apology for ‘hurting’ TiktoClock contestant Rica Maer
SHEENA PALAD – The young singer released a statement following the controversy over her recent ‘physical’ interaction with TiktoClock contestant Rica Maer. In a Facebook post on Saturday, June 22, Sheena admitted that she went beyond her limitations and unintentionally hurt Rica during their performance in the segment “Beat My Birit.”
“Beat My Birit is a segment on Tiktoclock described as ‘Bardagulan at Biritan.’ I realized afterward na I went overboard at nasaktan ko po si Rica,” Sheena said. “Nag sorry po ako kaagad kay Rica after our segment at hanggang sa kinagabihan po nang araw na yon hiningi ko po ng tawad sa kanya,” she added.
The young singer confirmed that she and Rica have reconciled. Rica has forgiven her for the incident, and they are currently communicating, with Rica reassuring her that everything is fine between them. Sheena also apologized to netizens who called her out and were offended by her actions towards Rica in that segment.
Sheena expressed her hope for forgiveness from those she hurt, including Rica’s family, fiancé, friends, and supporters. She also apologized to the team behind Tiktoclock, including bosses, directors, hosts, and staff, for her actions.
Meanwhile, even before this, the local government of Villasis had already issued a statement showing support for Rica and condemning Sheena’s actions toward their fellow townswoman. As of press time, Rica Maer, the fellow contestant of Sheena, has yet to issue any reaction regarding the latter’s actions.
To recall, Sheena Palad made headlines as the “young singer” who replaced veteran actress Eva Darren as a presenter at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS). Sheena explained that she had originally been scheduled to perform at the event and was approached suddenly by a FAMAS staff member to step in for Eva, who was already present but unable to fulfill her presenting duties.
