No Salary in the Senate Spouses Foundation, Says Heart Evangelista

HEART EVANGELISTA – The fashion icon clarified that she won’t receive any salary for being the president of the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc.

It can be recalled that Heart was sworn in as the new leader of the organization after her husband, Sen. Chiz Escudero, became the Senate president.

Heart joyfully expressed her gratitude and acceptance of her new position as President of the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. on Instagram. She thanked her fellow spouses and officials for welcoming and supporting her in this challenging journey ahead.

Heart expressed her readiness to face the challenge of collaborating to uplift communities and improve the lives of people, as she had mentioned in their initial meeting. Following that, the fashion influencer acknowledged the legacies of those who came before in SSFI and promised to continue what they started.

“With your support, fellow spouses, SSFI support staff, the Senate community and of course of Senate President Chiz, I am bravely taking on these duties. It is inspiring to see what we can accomplish and what kind of changes we can all make together,” she added in the post.

In a separate post on TikTok, Heart clarified that the foundation was established as early as 1987 under the leadership of senators’ wives through their “private capacities.” “It’s a non-stock-non-profit organization. All is done from the heart and for the love of our nation! Indeed it’s an honor to share this with my fellow senate spouses,” she said.

Heart replaced Audrey Tan-Zubiri, the wife of former Senate President Migz Zubiri, in the organization. Meanwhile, the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. (SSFI) is a non-stock, non-profit organization established in the Philippines. It is composed of the spouses of senators who work together in various charitable endeavors and community projects. The foundation typically focuses on initiatives aimed at uplifting communities and supporting causes that benefit the nation. It operates independently but often collaborates with the Philippine Senate and its members on certain projects and activities.
