CHAVIT SINGSON – The businessman and former politician shared his wish on his 83rd birthday.
Luis “Chavit” Singson, born on June 21, 1941, in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, is a prominent Filipino businessman and former politician with a long-standing influence in Ilocano politics. He served multiple terms as governor of Ilocos Sur and was mayor of Narvacan from 2019 to 2022. Singson gained national attention for his role in the impeachment and removal of President Joseph Estrada in 2001, revealing corruption allegations that sparked protests and led to Estrada’s downfall.
Aside from his political career, Singson has diversified into business ventures through his LCS Group of Companies, involved in telecommunications and automotive distribution. He also holds leadership roles in sports associations, notably as the president of the Philippine National Shooting Association.

On his 83rd birthday, Luis “Chavit” Singson expressed his wish to get married. He emphasized that he prefers a kind partner over physical beauty, saying, “Kuntento na ako sa buhay. May program ako sa buhay na happy life. Good health din. Sana makapag-asawa na. Hanggang ngayon, binata eh,” he told ABS-CBN with a laugh. Singson added, “Gusto ko mabait. Not necessarily maganda. Basta mabait.”
Every year on his birthday, Singson gives away money. This year, he will hold a birthday raffle through his business venture, the E-Gracia app, an online e-wallet, with a total of P7 million to be raffled on June 21, 2024.
