Piolo Pascual is a prominent Filipino actor, musician, model, and producer. Born Piolo Jose Nonato Pascual on January 12, 1977, in Manila, Philippines, he is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential figures in Philippine entertainment.
Piolo’s career in show business began in the early 1990s when he joined the popular youth-oriented variety show “That’s Entertainment,” created by German Moreno. His breakthrough came in 1994 when he landed a role in the ABS-CBN television series “Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako.” After taking a brief hiatus to finish his studies and move to the United States, Piolo returned to the Philippines in 1998 to pursue acting full-time.
In 2000, Piolo Pascual’s career skyrocketed after starring in the hit movie “Lagarista.” However, it was his role in the 2002 film “Dekada ’70,” where he played the character Jules Bartolome, that earned him critical acclaim. For his performance, he received the Best Supporting Actor award at the Metro Manila Film Festival.
Piolo has worked on numerous successful projects across various media. Some of his notable films include “Milan” (2004), “Don’t Give Up on Us” (2006), “Starting Over Again” (2014), and “The Breakup Playlist” (2015). On television, he has starred in popular series such as “Mangarap Ka” (2004), “Lobo” (2008), “Noah” (2010), and “Hawak Kamay” (2014).
The 47-year-old actor is celebrated not only for his talent and versatility but also for his enduring appeal and contribution to the Philippine entertainment industry.
