Lolit Solis Receives Birthday Gift from Kris Aquino
LOLIT SOLIS – The well-known entertainment figure was deeply touched and surprised by the birthday gift she received from Kris Aquino, even though Kris was abroad.
During a chat on May 30 at Chili’s restaurant, Solis expressed her amazement and near tears at Kris’s thoughtful gift, which she found particularly memorable given Kris’s absence and health issues. Solis shared that she did not have Kris’s phone number and was caught off guard when Kris’s secretary, Alvin, called to check if she was at home, indicating a delivery was on its way.
Solis has always described Kris as mischievous but fundamentally kind, emphasizing that while they might have disagreements, Kris never harbors ill intentions. She recounted a humorous story of Kris glaring at her during a Mass, despite exchanging peace wishes.
Celebrating her 77th birthday on May 20, Solis had a birthday lunch the day before at Oriental Palace. Kris’s gift included S ‘n R gift certificates worth PHP77,000. Solis also received a surprising gift from President Bongbong Marcos and PHP100,000 from actor Christopher de Leon. In total, her cash gifts amounted to PHP1.9 million, excluding additional cash from Nanette Medved and other well-wishers like RS Francisco and Frontrow. She also received a Louis Vuitton bag, prompting her to jokingly compare the generous gifts to funeral donations.
Solis humorously noted that she has two birth certificates, one listing her birth year as 1945 and another as 1947. She chose to go with the 1947 date to appear younger at 77. However, she plans to celebrate her 80th birthday next year, anticipating more generous gifts of PHP80,000 each.

Reflecting on the 1994 MFF Scam, which will mark its 30th anniversary on June 22, Solis acknowledged its lasting trauma but addressed it with humor, highlighting the significant impact it had on those involved.
