Kathryn Bernardo Awarded as Best Actress at FAMAS Gabi ng Parangal
KATHRYN BERNARDO – The Kapamilya actress reportedly stayed in a room while waiting for the FAMAS announcement instead of paying Php 5,000 for dinner.
One of the much-awaited film award events every year is the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards or more popularly known as FAMAS Awards. The 72nd FAMAS Awards was held at The Manila Hotel last Sunday.
At the FAMAS Gabi ng Parangal, Kathryn Bernardo was awarded as FAMAS Best Actress for her role in A Very Good Girl. Other nominees for the Best Actress award includes veteran actresses Maricel Soriano and Sharon Cuneta.
Kathryn was in disbelief to be nominated for a FAMAS Best Actress award. She was even more elated to win the award which she dedicated to her AVGG team. Piolo Pascual and Alfred Vargas tied for the FAMAS Best Actor award.
However, the 72nd FAMAS Awards did not only made headlines for the awards that were given out at the event. The issue involving FAMAS and veteran actress Eva Darren also caught the public attention. The veteran actress was invited as a presenter at the event but the night ended without the actress going on stage.
The said incident was narrated by the doctor son of the veteran actress on social media. Aside from the incident that left countless people disappointed with the film award-giving body, many people were also surprised that FAMAS charges Php 5,000 per plate at the event as stated in the post of the actress’ son.
Ms. Eva Darren brought along three (3) of her grandchildren and they paid Php 5,000 for each plate. Based on an article on Pep, due to what happened, there are calls for FAMAS to reimburse the amount paid by the veteran actress who was disappointed by what happened.
Based on the article, Kathryn Bernardo did not pay Php 5,000 for a plate of dinner at FAMAS’ Gabi ng Parangal. A source of PEP Troika reportedly claimed that the actress stayed in a room while waiting for the announcement.
“Kaya nang tawagin ang name niya bilang best actress, sa backstage siya nanggaling,” a PEP Troika source reportedly said.
Based on the article, Kathryn Bernardo was even surprised that there were still lots of people at the event since it was already late.
