Batangas Governor, Wife Sign Pre-Nuptial Agreement for Assets Distribution
BATANGAS GOVERNOR – Gov. Dodo Mandanas admitted that he and his wife, lawyer Angelica Chua-Mandanas, signed a pre-nup agreement.
A lot of couples, most especially the celebrities, politicians, and business owners, have mutually-agreed to signing a pre-nuptial agreement before they officially tied the knot. The deals come with different reasons behind but these usually revolve around the protection of each party. Recently, a politician in Batangas also signed a pre-nup agreement with his wife.
Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas and his now wife, Atty. Angelica Chua-Mandanas, had a church wedding. The event was livestreamed so the Batangueños can watch the event. The reception of the wedding was held in front of the provincial capitol.
Undeniably, the wedding of Governor Mandanas hooked different reactions from the people. Some are very happy for the 80-year-old Governor while others took his and his wife’s age gap negatively. The wife of the politician is 48 years his junior.
The lawyer was vocal that she was also initially hesitant considering their age gap but him being his ideal person, she did not let it get in the way. She’s also relieved by the support of her family and friends who did not make their age gap a big deal.
With regards to their wealth distribution, in an interview with ABS-CBN, Batangas Governor Dodo Mandanas and Atty. Angelica Chua-Mandanas confirmed that they signed a pre-nup agreement. According the Governor, it is for the purpose of setting “how the material goods will be distributed”.
The Governor stressed that his wife is a partner at a firm. According to him, he has no lot properties and he does not even have his own car. He stressed that his wife’s family is richer than his.
The lawyer jokingly expressed that the pre-nup is for her protection. The couple agreed that what belongs to him before their wedding are his and what belongs to her before the wedding are hers. Their conjugal assets are those that they will acquire after they got married.
It was a whirlwind romance for the Governor and his new wife. They first dated for the Valentine’s this February 2024 and their boyfriend-girlfriend moments were less than three (3) months. Meanwhile, the couple’s love did not make them hesitant to officially tie the knot.
