Tatay plays “Selos” using a one-string custom guitar
SELOS – A video of a man playing the song popularized by the Queen of Bangsamoro Pop, Shaira, using a one-string custom guitar, has gone viral.
Shaira Moro is a rising B-pop (Bangsamoro Pop) singer who gained popularity after her song “Selos” went viral on online platforms like TikTok. However, her fame also brought controversy when Australian singer Lenka and her team took legal action against Shaira for allegedly using the melody of Lenka’s song “Trouble is a Friend.”
Shaira Moro is associated with the recording label AHS Channel, which removed the song from streaming platforms due to copyright issues. Despite this setback, Shaira expressed her gratitude during an interview and mentioned that she is ready to graduate with a degree in Social Work.
Aside from her music career, Shaira is also married and has been with her husband, Muiz, for five years. She has faced hate comments online but remains determined to continue making music and composing new tracks.
Due to the popularity of her song, this inspired a man to come up with a guitar cover using a custom one-string guitar. In the video uploaded on RodMar Cares Facebook page, the elderly man can be seen playing the single using his custom guitar made of light materials.
His performance has already earned more than 2.4 million views, with some netizens expressing amazement at the elderly man’s ability to come up with such a unique kind of instrument.
Meanwhile, a few of Shaira’s songs have already been taken down from online platforms, prompting suggestions from fans as she prepares to release her upcoming album. Many advised Shaira to assemble a more competent team to avoid future legal issues. Experts also emphasized the need for Shaira to exercise greater care in light of her growing fame in the industry.
