The first part of the pork sisig recipe is the list of ingredients that you need to prepare in cooking this pork dish. For a dish that can yield up to six (6) servings, here are the ingredients that you must prepare:

  • 2.25 lbs. Pork belly
  • one (1) egg
  • 1.5 lb. pig face or maskara
  • 3 pieces onion
  • 4.5 tablespoons Knorr Liquid Seasoning
  • 6 ounces chicken liver
  • 4.5 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 4.5 tablespoons Lady’s Choice Mayonnaise
  • 0.38 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 teaspoons onion powder
  • 0.75 cup chicharon, crumbled
  • 1.5 tablespoon butter
  • 3 quarts water

The next part of the Pork Sisig recipe is the cooking process. The cooking may take around one hour and a half including the boiling process. Here are the steps on how to cook a delicious sisig:

Pour in water in a cooking pot and let it boil. Add the pork belly and maskara to boiling water. Cover the pot and continue boil it for up to one (1) hour over medium heat. Afterwards, when the meat is tender, drain the water and let its temperature go down.

Grill the boiled meats for five (5) minutes per side. Afterwards, chop the grilled meats into small pieces.

Add cooking oil in a pan and heat it. Add the onion and saute it for one (1) minute. Add the chicken liver and continue sauteing it until the chicken liver is cooked. Mash the chicken liver while cooking it to break it into small cuts.

Add the minced meat into the pan. Add chili flakes, ground black pepper, and onion powder. Add the Pork Knorr Liquid Seasoning and make sure they mix well.

Add the Lady’s Choice Mayonnaise. Continue stirring your pork sisig and cooking it for three (3) more minutes. Afterwards, set it aside.

Heat a metal plate and add butter. Transfer the cooked sisig to the metal plate. Add raw egg on top of the sisig and some crumbled chicharon. It is best served with calamansi and steamed, white rice. Enjoy your meal!
