Here’s Kaye Abad Response to Being Called ‘Ugly Version’ of Iza Calzado By Mo Twister
KAYE ABAD – Actress Kaye Abad acknowledges and embraces the characterization bestowed upon her by Mo Twister, who referred to her as the less attractive counterpart of Iza Calzado.
To recall, after marrying her husband Paul Jake Castillo, actress Kaye Abad relocated to Cebu, where they currently reside with their two sons, Joaquin and Iñigo. Following their wedding, Kaye opted for a quieter life away from the limelight in Cebu, mentioning that she married into a family that prefers simplicity over extravagance.
Before her marriage, Kaye’s past relationship with actor John Lloyd Cruz was widely known, with their breakup proving particularly challenging as they continued to work together on the television series “Tabing-Ilog” despite no longer being a couple.
On the 315th episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” aired on April 12, 2024, Kaye Abad discussed her struggles with insecurities. When asked if she still grapples with insecurities despite her years in the public eye, Kaye candidly admitted, “Oo, palagi. Ewan ko Tito Boy, insecure ako.”
Surprised by her response, Abunda inquired about the reasons behind Kaye’s lack of confidence in her appearance. Kaye chuckled and confessed to feeling insecure about her height, even considering chiropractic treatment to gain an inch in height. She also expressed insecurity about her looks, especially when it became a topic of discussion during guest appearances. However, she clarified that she doesn’t consider herself ugly, but she doesn’t see herself as beautiful either.
“Sa height ko, na sabi ko nga magpapa-chiropractor ako baka tumaas-taas pa ako kahit 1 inch lang.”
“Magpapa-stretch lang ako ng konti. Sa height ko, insecure ako sa height ko.” She added, “Sa itsura ko, oo. Tuwing mag-g-guest ako sa ‘yo, yun talaga yung topic na hindi talaga.”
“Titignan ko yung mukha ko sa salamin palagi na hindi ako pangit, hindi ako napapangitan sa sarili ko.
When asked whom she would choose to look like, Kaye confidently mentioned Iza Calzado, revealing that she had been previously compared to her by DJ Mo Twister. Kaye recounted Twister’s comment, labeling her as the “ugly version” of Iza Calzado, which she relayed to Calzado herself, stating that she would accept being considered the ugly version.
“Sinabi nga ni Mo Twister yun e, na ako raw ang ugly version ni Iza Calzado,” she said, “At sinabi ko kay Iza Calzado yun, at tatanggapin ko yun. At least ugly version.”
