Janus del Prado Throws Shade at Artists Who Criticized Celebrities for Switching Networks in the Past
JANUS DEL PRADO – The actor-comedian spoke out against artists who, in the past, criticized celebrities for switching TV channels, labeling them as disloyal.
On Instagram, Janus pointed out the irony of the situation and criticized those who made fun of celebrities for changing networks. “Yung mga bumabatikos sa mga lumipat dati, nagsilipatan na din ngayon lol. Kala ko ba hindi loyal ang mga lumilipat?” he wrote.
Janus suggested that the recent moves of celebrities he referred to show how connected the entertainment industry is. Despite previous criticism, these celebrities still needed support from their new networks, including those they once criticized, to gain a larger audience.
He ended by advising against making firm judgments because circumstances can change unexpectedly. Apparently, Janus didn’t mention the specific celebrities he was talking about. But his post came when It’s Showtime moved to GMA Network.
Meanwhile, among those who faced criticism for switching networks is Janus’ close friend, Bea Alonzo, who received backlash from some of her previous fans after joining GMA Network. Also, former ABS-CBN artist Ai-Ai delas Alas faced criticism from some peers when she made a similar move to switch networks.
Janus del Prado is an actor renowned for his contributions to Philippine cinema and television. He began his journey into showbiz at a tender age, initially undertaking minor roles. Despite being the son of veteran action star Renato del Prado and actress Amelia Robles, Janus’ mother insisted on training him and his siblings herself, shunning the use of his father’s influence in the industry.
Since his debut in 1990, Janus has showcased his versatility through various roles in both films and television series. Notable among his works are movies like “One More Chance,” “Catch Me, I’m in Love,” and “Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay,” and TV shows including “G-mik,” “Qpids,” and “The Story of Us.” Janus returned to GMA Channel 7 following the closure of ABS-CBN Channel 2 in 2020, marking his comeback after almost two decades.
