DARREN ESPANTO – The singer clarified his relationship with TV host Cassy Legaspi, stating they are simply best friends, despite persistent inquiries.

Darren, a Filipino-Canadian singer and actor, gained fame after finishing as the runner-up on the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines in 2014. He possesses exceptional vocal talent and has since become one of the most prominent young artists in the Philippines. He has released several successful albums and singles, earning numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the music industry. Apart from singing, Darren has also ventured into acting, appearing in various television shows and films.

On the other hand, Cassy Legaspi is an actress, singer, and television personality. She is the daughter of Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi. She gained popularity for her roles in television series such as “First Yaya” and its sequel “First Lady,” where she portrayed the character Nina Acosta. Cassy has also showcased her talents in singing and dancing on shows like “All-Out Sundays” and “Eat Bulaga.” Additionally, she appears with her family on the talk show “Sarap, ‘Di Ba?. Currently, she’s one of the hosts of “Tahanang Pinakamasaya.”

Darren caught the interest of netizens after revealing during the debut of It’s Showtime on GMA Network that he’s single, with some asking if he and Cassy Legaspi, the daughter of Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi, have called it quits.

However, he clarified his relationship status with the television host, stating they were just friends. “Makulit sila! Sabi ko best friends lang kami eh,” Darren said. “Best friends talaga. It’s something a lot of people won’t get. Hindi ko alam paano explain pero syempre andun ‘yung pagmamahal namin sa isa’t isa,” he added.

When asked about the potential for romance, Darren denied any such development for now. He also expressed delight after becoming trending with Kapuso actress Jillian Ward, hinting at possible collaborations in the future. “Nagulat din ako trending din pangalan namin ni Jillian. May mga ships na. She’s very chill. Nag-uusap na kami, nag-iisip ng collaboration in the future saka kung papayagan kung pwedeng tumawid,” Darren shared.
