It’s Showtime hosts teased Darren Espanto and Kyline Alcantara
DARREN ESPANTO and KYLINE ALCANTARA – The two were playfully teased by the hosts of “It’s Showtime” on Wednesday’s episode of the noontime program.
Darren Espanto, a Canadian-Filipino singer, gained fame after participating in the inaugural season of “The Voice Kids” Philippines in 2014, where he finished as the runner-up. His remarkable vocal abilities and stage presence endeared him to audiences, leading to a successful music career. Espanto has released several albums and singles, and he has performed at numerous concerts and events both in the Philippines and abroad.
On the other hand, Kyline Alcantara rose to prominence as a child actress and singer. She embarked on her showbiz journey at a young age and has since appeared in various television shows and films.
The two were playfully teased by the hosts of “It’s Showtime” on Wednesday’s episode of the noontime program. Following Kyline’s rendition of “Save Your Tears” alongside Jeremy G, Kim Chiu light-heartedly remarked on Darren’s focused attention towards Kyline during her performance, sparking a cheerful exchange between the two.
Vice Ganda chimed in with a jest, suggesting that the next time Kyline and Darren perform together, they should sing “We Are Family.” Jhong Hilario added to the humor by combining their names into “DarLine.” Despite previous rumors connecting Darren to Cassy Legaspi and Kyline to Mavy Legaspi, Darren clarified his relationship status on the show, stating he didn’t have a girlfriend.
Aside from Kyline, Darren was also teased by his fellow hosts to Jillian Ward, who appeared on the debut of “It’s Showtime” on the Kapuso Network.
Meanwhile, the premiere of “It’s Showtime” on GMA-7 on April 6 was well-received, featuring an extravagant opening number for Vice Ganda’s birthday and trending moments. It garnered a solid 6.8% rating on GMA Network and reached a 9.7% combined rating from various channels, according to Nielsen Philippines NUTAM People Ratings. The show is also aired on GMA Network’s GTV.
