An SSS membeship is mandated among the private employers and their employees, self-employed individuals, household helpers or kasambahays, and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) except for Filipino permanent migrants. The non-working spouses of SSS members and members who have been separated from work may also apply for a membership.

To maintain an active account to the state-run social insurance giant, a member must continuously post SSS contribution based on the rates set by the state entity. An updated account may qualify a member to the loans and benefit offers that address different financial needs.

One of the loans offered by the Social Security System is the Salary Loan offer. It is a multi-purpose cash loan that is open for both salaried and non-salaried individuals as well as the OFW members.

To apply for the loan offer, the SSS Salary Loan requirements depend on who will file the loan application. If it will be done by the member-borrower, here are the documents that must be submitted to the state-run social insurance institution:

  • duly-accomplished Member Loan Application Form
  • SSS digitized ID or E-6 with any two (2) valid IDs (one of which with a recent photo)

The SSS loan application may also be filed by an authorized representative of the SSS member. Here are the SSS Salary Loan requirements that must be submitted in this case:

  • duly-accomplished Member Loan Application Form
  • Letter of Authority (LOA) from employer
  • SSS-issued Authorized Company Representative (ACR) card
  • Member-borrower’s SS card or Application for SS card (SS Form E-6) acknowledgment stub and two (2) valid IDs
  • two (2) valid IDs both with signature and at least one (1) of which with a photo

If the member-borrower is employed, the loan application may also be filed through an authorized representative of his/her employer or the company that the member is working for. Here are the documents required by the SSS:

  • duly-accomplished Member Loan Application Form
  • Member-borrower’s SS card or Application for SS card (SS Form E-6) acknowledgment stub and two (2) valid IDs
  • two (2) valid IDs both with signature and at least one (1) of which with a photo
  • Letter of Authority (LOA) from employer
